Citizen Standard is a class that educates on all the essentials to ensure a safe, aligned yoga practice. We recommend taking 3-5 Citizen Standard classes for students newer to Citizen Yoga and 1-2 CY Standard classes per month for ALL students at Citizen Yoga. This class is a perfectly balanced class for both the seasoned and newer practitioner. In the class, you will learn about: breath, foot placement, standing poses, rotation of the legs, health of the pelvis and foundational elements of the practice. It is a GREAT experience, as well as, educational resource.
Combines the flow of Vinyasa with the guided challenge of Slow Burn. The pace of this class moves from some self-guided warm-ups into long-held postures that slow the body, focus the mind, and work toward a well-earned savasana. If you are familiar with Short-Form Ashtanga, this class offers a similar pace.
Lydia guides the class through foundational sun salutations and a short standing flow before grounding the class for counter poses! Two blocks will be helpful here, but not totally necessary.
